Piano Answers

There was a song I used to love & just recently remembered an image I saw in the video clip. A woman (possibly Alicia Keys) playing piano with candles & a memorial for a deceased person on the piano? She also cries on the steps (which also have candles there) of this fairly run down looking house… Please if anyone knows what I’m talking about help me! I miss it so much!

I used to play piano until I quit in 6th grade. Now I am a sophomore in high school, & I really regret quitting, but the problem is that we can’t afford for me to take piano lessons again with a busy schedule & other extra curricular activities. I am at a beginning/intermediate level now, & I would like to improve my piano sight reading & playing more difficult pieces. Any help?

Okay so im a junior in high school & I have a math tutor who is a senior who I’ve become friends with over the past 6 months or so. At first I couldn’t see myself liking him because he’s a dork & really smart…but I’ve gotten to know him a lot better & have grown to really like him. We get along really well & were always laughing. We both play piano & write music. Our families are also friends. The thing is, he’s going off to college this coming August & I want to tell him how I feel but I want to wait until tutoring is over so its not awkward at all. Im also kind of nervous about telling him, I mean I have a pretty good feeling he likes me, hes done lots of things that make me think he does. What do you think I should do???

Ok so I’m basically teaching myself piano, & I can play & read some of Mozart’s pieces. Except I have to get my keyboard to play the piece so I know where the flats/sharps are.
Cuz you know when you have your notes, & the flats & stuff & indicated on the left hand side? I dont know how to get that…how do you know which notes & flats/sharps by looking at the ones on the left hand side? I dont get how to read that.
Please help. If you all even get what I mean. Like I said, self taught.

I read somewhere that you need at least 76 keys to play all of both of their music, but this I found was not true, especially in Chopin’s piano music. Try playing Scherzo No. 2 in B-flat minor, op. 31 on a 76 key. It just wouldn’t work, since the piece doesn’t fit on the keys.
The piano solo version of Egmont Overture by Beethoven also can’t be played on a 76 key.
How many piano keys did Beethoven & Chopin have if they composed piano pieces that only a piano can cover?

I play viloin . Is violin , piano , & guitar the same notes ? Or do I have to totally learn all things new ? I was wondering if I should play guitar or piano . age 16 . girl .

For an English assignment, the class was told to write a short poem on a vivid memory. My teacher asked us to include a lot of figurative language, as part of the assignment. So, I’m wondering, do you feel that I included enough figurative language? Also, do you have any suggestions/comments on my piece as a whole? Please keep in mind that I wrote this in thirty minutes, so it isn’t too great. Thanks for your help, though! <3

now im not sure if i do have anxiety issues but heres an example of what i go through alot .
today in school (im in grade 10), we had to perform in front of my music class a song i have been practicing for a good few weeks. i knew the song, i knew it off by heart. when im just practing im am half decent, & i dont really mess up because of how much i practiced. but come time today to present i freaked. i sat down to the piano & i started shaking & freaking out & almost like mini hyperventilating & teary eyes, nervous foot tap, that kinda thing. then i started to play & i think i messed up a note, but a few notes in my teacher move my chair up the piano so i would be playing up an octave instead of what i was used to. i panicked starting freaking out & i cried & i was like wwhyd you do that not i dont know where im to!!!! so he restarted the song for me & i played again, still crying cause i was so nervouse. i got through the song thank god. & i got a 90% .
i have a feeling it was just because he felt bad for me. he came over to talk to me after & apologized for freaking me out & i started to cry again because i was embarsed from crying.
this type of thing happens alot, such as durring tests, recieving tests marks, & espically presenting, it happens when i present projects aswell. i just freak out & worry & stress..
how do i get over this issue i have, & what would you call it .please help..xo

This was a music video made in 2007 or 2008 I believe. All I remember is that it was featured on MTV several times, the guy was red head, & it was light rock kind of. I believe the artist was playing a piano in the video too. Anybody know who this is?

Yeah, basically what I wrote in the title. I got the Playing God transcript by aldy123 & I know Brick By Boring Brick is arranged by Luke Erickson. I am a good piano player but have never taken any of my grades, so I don’t know what level those two songs are on piano. Some help?

I played the piano from 7 until 12, & my wpm is very good(I’m 14), & I’ve never taken typing lessons. Its just a thought that came to me as a I was going to bed last night.

I used to play volleyball, but I’ve decided to devote my time to school & these extracurricular activities. Is it better to play one sport that you could be captain of (and are on Varsity) than two where one of them you aren’t great at? Will it be a factor when applying to colleges, that I only play one sport?

I love both instruments very much & I want to be able to play both. Been playing piano for 8 years & guitar for 3. Is it True that guitar wrecks the ability to play piano?

I know the bass clef is played with the left hand & the treble played with the right. But when you are playing both at the same time, are the chords different? For example, playing A in the bass at the same time as playing C in the right. If this is true, why? I believe when playing pop music the bass note matches the notes on the guitar, piano, etc..
