i’ve just started playing again after about 7 years. I believe we bought my Yamaha upright piano about.. 10years ago. I’ve noticed that starting from the keys around the middle C to the left side of the piano, the sound doesnt linger when you take your hands off the keys. probably needs to be tuned?
how often are you supposed to tune your piano? & how much is the price range in the denver area?

i’ve bein looking around for prices & estimates on how much it will cost to have a piano tuned. & i was jsut wondering whats the avrage cost for it, because i dont want to overcharged or ripped off!

Fees for piano tuning and/or maintenance are not regulated by statute. You can sensibly compare piano tuning fees with those in other industry where a visit to the client’s premises is involved. The Piano Tuners’ Association has ‘recommended minimum fees’ that vary according to area. Piano tuners, like members of any other profession, will vary in their abilities, experience, & knowledge. Piano tuning is an art requiring training, experience & considerable talent. As with any other service of this nature, clients can reasonably expect to pay more for the benefit of a high level of skill & knowledge.

About how much does it cost to have a small upright piano tuned? Its like 30 years old.

We just bought a used Lyon & Healy upright that’s in good condition. Its played about 1-2 hours a day. Any style ranging from classical to pop. And we live in the midwest.

I haven’t gotten my piano tuned in a while. It’s starting to sound kind of bad. Also, I’ve dropped some pencils in it. Is it necessary to get your piano tuned (prevent broken strings or something) or is it okay to just leave it like it is? Also, how do I get the pencils out if their trapped behind the cover that goes over the keys? Also, how much does it usually cost to get a baby grand tuned?

Anyone have a rough idea how much it costs for a pretty run down piano to be tuned? North London area. Any help appreciated.

Where would I look to find a piano tuner? Our piano is way out of tune, & I’d like to get it tuned– would there be a number in my local phone book?
How does the tuning work, do you have to take the piano apart? We have the piano that isn’t grand or baby grand, I’m not sure what that kind is called. About how much would it cost to get it tuned?

i am trying to buy a paino but i dont want to have to pay for tuning, however if i move it will i have to tune it anyway?

I recently visited my elderly aunt in the Boston area & discovered she has a very old upright piano in her home. She used to enjoy playing the piano but, apparently, rarely plays anymore because the piano hasn’t been tuned in years. I have no idea what the model is or if it will even hold a tuning anymore but I’d like to pay to have it tuned. I live in California, have no piano of my own & have no idea what this would cost. If anyone knows, please let me know.

My husband’s grandmother gave us her piano a few years ago, & it was never tuned because none of us played. I don’t know when it was tuned before then. My daughter is starting to play, & it’s very out of tune. I’d just like to know how much to expect to pay to get it tuned, & is piano tuning a tippable service?
