Piano Answers

alright, i grew up doing a little bit of everything
im bascially a jack of all trades
ive had 14 years of ballet training
(but i obviously can’t be a professional, its more of a hobby)
i used to write a lot of stories & songs, writing comes easy to me
(but i dont want to be a journalist)
i love love love every animal & my heart melts for them
(but to be a vet, you need a perfect 4.0 in all your bio classes… including bio-chemistry… & i cant do that X__X im an average B student)
i also had gymnastics / acrobat/ contortionist training
(but the circus is a dying art, usually family owned, & they travel a lot)
i can climb anything
(but arborists dont really make all that much money)
despite being a tomboy, i somehow learned how to do awesome & realistic things with makeup, whether its making someone look sick, or like a zombie, or like a fairy, or if they were rotting in the ocean, or if they were a burn victim
(but mom wont let me go to a beauty school)
im also very artistically inclined
(but i can’t picture being able to draw something every hour of every day for the rest of my life)
im musically inclined, i can read music, sight read & sing, i used to play the violin & i can play by ear on the piano even though ive never had lessons
(but im not about to go be a famous singer)
lol i was also raised as a daddy’s girl & learned all the handy work
i.e. all kinds of house work & renovations & repairs with mechanics, plumbing, electricity etc…
(but i would not enjoy that X__X they have always been chores for me growing up)
so if theres any job that could somehow mix dancing or art & music, or something with climbing & animals, or writing…
ugh im a mess arent i???
i was considering moving to San Francisco with my sister & be one of the acrobats that dances above the crowds at the clubs
because really, i grew up performing & dancing & thats the one thing i have most experience with

I am trying to find versions of “Beyond the Sea” & “Mac the Knife” by Bobby Darin, & of “Come Fly With Me” by Frank Sinatra that only have the piano parts. A friend of mine is doing a show & wants to sing over them, but the piano player he was using sold their piano. Is there any way I can find these songs online, or any kind of key words I can use to search? Thanks for any help!

I Have a player Piano that has not been played in over 10 yrs, has been in storage for 4 yrs but is in VERY good condition. It needs major tuning & probably a very good cleaning as well.
Also, My clarinet needs new pads & an overall cleaning as well.
I live in Va but if anyone knows of a good place ( reputable ) place to get either of these worked on, could you pass it on ?

i’m a sophomore in high school & want to know my chances.. thank you for your help in advance! =]
-i have about a 4.7 gpa (which means about 3 B’s in all ap & pre-ap classes total for four years of high school) (by the end of junior year hopefully it will be about a 4.8) — which at my high school (a very very competitive public high school in a big metropolitan city that usually sends several kids to ivies every year) would be about in the top 20-ish people out of about 800
-editor (as of now) hopefully i can be chief later! of my school newspaper
-state qualifier for a nationally ranked debate team
-member of a team of six people who won $10,000 at a nyc national competition
-editor-in-chief & starter of a neighborhood newsletter that caters to about 500 people that is dedicated to diversity
-science fair regional finalist
-president & founder of a music club that volunteers by playing concerts for homeless shelters & nursing homes, with all different kinds of music (i play piano)
-multiple city-wide piano competitions
-a few writing competitions
-im a pretty good writer so i think my essays will be good, hopefully
-i haven’t taken the sat’s yet but im taking a prep course this summer, hopefully it will help!
-i will be taking two ap’s this year (one more than most kids in my grade) & probably 4 next year

i dont know if thisll help but i can pay full tuition (my parents make about $300k a year combined but theyre not like filthy rich so we can’t like fund a building or anything lol)

I’ve asked my mom to put me in activities….like Club Volleyball, Gymnastics, or piano lessons….but she either tells me no right off the back…or she’ll just ignore me. Then when it comes to my little brother, SHE’S the one asking HIM if he wants to play baseball or t-ball..or whatever little kids are forced to play…I’m always wanting to go to the park & I ask her to play volleyball with me, & she just yells at me or says she’s “tired” or she’s “busy” when, in actuality, she’s watching tv or sleeping….I used to be a lot more active, but now that I can’t do anything…I stay on the computer….AND THEN she gets mad at me & tells me I need to get out more!! *sigh*I mean, If I were put in some activities that I truly love…I wouldn’t be sittin’ around all day…..what do I do? I’ve tried to ask my grandparents to help me pay for tuition to an out of school volleyball team…but ends never meet…and I’m still stuck here…I don’t know what to do.

I just got a free piano & the sound is quite nice, but one key sticks sometimes because the felt on the hammer is extremely close to the hammer on the next key. When this happens, it brings up the next hammer & that key starts to sound quiet. If I gently pull these hammers that are very close together away a little, & sort of flex them back slightly, the problem is solved for a few days, but inevitably, the hammers bend back close together. Is there some simple fix that I can do myself without hiring someone to come in & charge a lot of cash?
