Piano Answers

I’ve been playing piano for a very long time now, but I never really bothered to have mine tuned. Now it sounds ancient.

My family has one upright piano (used to have two), a small black keyboard about six years old, & my own silver keyboard of only a few years. All of these are Yamaha. The actual pianos keep tuned easily & my brother an I love the effects & ability to save/record songs on the newer silver keyboard. That said even the older black keyboard is still pretty good even today.

Playing any instrument takes practice. Your body needs to get used to the new motions you are asking it to do. And you need to make the connections between your eyes (reading the music), ears (hearing it) & body.
Unless you are a prodigy, it will take quite a bit of time to get everything working together. A good teacher will make it fun, not tedious.

I know the answer is “it depends”. But sometimes my piano tuner takes 3 hours! This is for a 5-year old, 125cm (49″) upright, with nice agraffes–which I understand should make tensioning the strings a breeze.
This is the only tuner I’ve ever worked with so I don’t know how to compare with others. I think I’ve read in someone’s memoir (either Piano Shop on the Left Bank or Noah Adam’s Piano Book) that that a good tuner should take just an hour.

Wouldn’t the baby get up to all sorts of mischief in that big house, surely Elton wouldn’t be able to concentrate?

I want to know because I was thinking about asking my mom to let me have piano lessons.

If it is possible how could i set it up?

Just bought a Piano & is in need of a tuning in three months.
I am just wondering about the average tuning prices around the Greater London area in pounds please (£GBP, Sterling).
Also I was wondering whether i will need to go & take my piano to the tuner or are they mobile & service the piano in your own home?

i was up to level 4 twenty years ago but i havent play since.
how long will it take to get to level 8?
And can you go out a teach piano lessons if you reach level 8?

i’ve always wanted to learn how to play the piano because i want to be the one to accompany the choir in our church. the problem is i don’t have any idea how to learn. now, i’m planning to buy a keyboard so i could start my piano lessons. i don’t have anyone to teach i just search on the net for piano tutorials. would i be able to learn & for how long?

I have been playing piano for 3 & a half years, but I really dont like it anymore & i am not good at it. I really want to stop, but I dont know how to telll my mom that. She is always telling me how proud she is of me playing the piano. i have to practice every day for 30 minutes & it is REALLY annoying. Help me, how should I tell my mom that i dont want to play anymore.

I have been promoted to a rank of To Dei in my school of Kung Fu for this marks the beginning of the school staff that is soon to be as well as being a trusted student with many responsibilities. For example, once my teacher has enough fundings for another school he will place the name of the old school to me & the current to him self as he progress by the amount of students within the class.

What goals i have for the future after high school: Study in the field of technical repair of both appliances & computer, receive a Bachelors in technical repair.

I know there are a number of ways to learn piano. Which method & for how long would it take you to learn?

I already play flute & piano but i really want to play electric violin (please say if i should start on acoustic), my parents can’t afford another set of lessons so i thought i would get a tuition book so i could TRY to teach myself. do you know any books that would be any good for this!?

I just wondered how long pianists take to compose a music, more preferably a novice.
Can anyone also tell me if they know a site that you can make piano sheets for free? Thank you very much. =D
