Piano Answers

What is a good keyboard for beginners & a good instruction manual or book? How can I learn? I will not go to lessons though, I need to learn on my own time. What can I do?

i start learning how to play on piano when i was 14 but when i was 16 my mom died & i culdn’t keep playing on it …. but i really love the piano & i wanna resume learning … so is this a good age or it’s too late now ????

My little sister wants to learn, but she’s scared at what others will think about her.

My family has one upright piano (used to have two), a small black keyboard about six years old, & my own silver keyboard of only a few years. All of these are Yamaha. The actual pianos keep tuned easily & my brother an I love the effects & ability to save/record songs on the newer silver keyboard. That said even the older black keyboard is still pretty good even today.

I can play piano at a grade 4 level & my teacher advised me to try playin by ear to help with composing

I PLAY GUITAR AND HAVE A LITTLE BIT MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE can I reach the 8th grade in 5 years?? I want to pass London College of Music & Royal Academy exams. Should I start??

I would really love to play the piano. But worried about my age, also getting a teacher to help me. Is 20 years of age too old, I also have a piano at home, which is a plus.

will it be hard ? i mean, how good can you get if you just started playing at age 14. Could i graduate at a music school at college & be a succesful pianist?

If I dedicated myself to it right now, really felt it, spent hours & hours on it, & loved it, could I be as talented by 27 or 28 as some of the people who have been playing since they were like 5?

I do have prior musical learning. Such as Clarinet, a little of Flute & Drums.
I really would like to learn!

I already know how to read music & i play the flute (i think this is important to know).

I use play pretty good when I was in high school, I took classes every year. The other day (10 years later) I tried playing some songs but could not remember a thing.
I thought about taking lessons but decided not to because I still know the theory very well, it would be just practise.
What I would like to know is, does anyone recommend anything to start with? Should I royal conservatory type music? Any help would be great, with possible links to web sites.

I have been playing keyboard for years doing music production, but nothing special. I cannot play a piano & have only just started to self teach myself music theory (which is making playing alot easier).
Could I still be a very good piano player if I work hard at it? Even though I have started late?
Also how many lessons you recommend a week?

I stopped playing piano about four years ago & I want to start up again.

If you don’t play piano, when did you start playing any other instrument?

I’ve always wanted to learn the piano but never really stuck at it when I was younger, then when I started learning again at the age of 17 my teacher got divorced & moved away, so any previous attempts haven’t really worked out But I’ve always had this niggling feeling that I want to learn, I adore music, love singing & think the piano is the most beautiful instrument ever, but everyone I know who plays have learned since early childhood, would starting now be worthwhile or not? Also as I already know the basics would it be possible to do a little self-tuition until I find a proper teacher, is it atall possible to teach yourself the piano?
