Piano Answers

Im just starting playing piano & Im having some trouble getting my hands to play the different parts. What are some good exercises to get my hands used to playing? Any tips are helpful. Thanks!

Is there a way to tune the piano to make it not make sound. I want to hit the keys & make it look like I’m playing the piano.

I really want to learn the piano, but we don’t have enough money for lessons (also why I only have a small keyboard we got for free) but that’s the best I can do. So, is there any good guide or something on how to play? I’m good at matching what I hear & can read notes, since I played violin for years, but the piano is so big & when I look at piano music I don’t understand it, & which note is where on the piano.

How many years is necessary to attain the technical skill to play moonlight sonata? How long will it take to play the 3rd mvt?

I see a lot of songs out there & hear a lot of songs containing 32nd notes, but they are far too fast to play. 16th notes are one thing, but the thirty-seconds are too hard. Does anyone here know how to count & play them on the piano, & if so, how do you do it? I’m having problems doing it with the finger arrangements & such.

I’m currently taking piano lessons.

I have a few piano pieces which require you to play forte, however I can’t seem to master the technique of playing forte without thumping down on the piano with my fingers, which sounds rather noisy & unmusical. Any ideas?

What is the movie called where a kid runs away from home to play piano & then goes mad or insane playing it as an adult? In this movie its about a young boy (witch i forgot his name) wants to play piano so bad that he runs away from his family & his father who hates music. And then he goes to this one school to learn to play & then grows up playing it. Then he becomes as good as Bahtovin & others & in the prosess goes mad or insane.

I’m not sure exactly what notes & fills to use when accompanying myself singing songs such as “Old Time Rock & Roll” & other similar rock/pop songs. I am an advanced pianist technically, but my improvisation skills are not as strong. I understand & know which chords to play for the songs, but I don’t completely understand which “bluesy” notes fit & when to use them when doing piano fills & soloing to make the piano accompaniment more interesting. Any advice or resources would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t read piano music, but can play by ear very well. I have been wanting to compose my songs, but it is difficult for me to do.

Whenever they’re going over a match on ‘today at wimbledon’ & skip through a few games, there is piano music in the background. Does anyone know what that is??

I’ve been playing the guitar for seven years, & it’s a lot of fun. However, my dream is to compose piano music for video games and/or release my own music.
I have a piano at home, but can’t play it very well yet. I heard that at my school of choice you have to audition in order to get accepted into a music composition program. Is it possible to get a music composition degree without being able to play the piano well at the beginning?

Well, I was considering learning guitar, but my piano teacher told me that when guitarists play their fingers develop a tough skin & this may effect my ability to control pressure on my fingers as well as without playing guitar.
Is this true?

OK so I’m 21, about to go off & join the forces with any luck, but during leave I’d like to learn how to play the piano. I am, however, worried about a few things:
1. I have the dexterity & reflexes (with regard to my fingers) of an ape- I am a boxer & a rugby forward, not an artist. Can this be changed?
2. I haven’t got the cash or time for lessons & tuition, & I have heard that the sort of keyboard that you need to learn on is very expensive to buy- true?

I’m looking for a free piece of music for piano to play in a recital to last about 3 minutes. I’m not brilliant at piano, so I need a medium difficulty piece, preferably in 4/4. It can be any style or genre of music. I’ve looked on a few sites but can’t seem to find much. Has anyone got any ideas?
