Becoming A Piano Performance Major Without Previous Experiance?
Hello I’m very passionate about learning the piano & possibly pursuing a career as a performing musician(piano). However I have no previous experience other than toying around with a keyboard at my home. Is it even possible to do this since you have to audition to become a performance major? Say could I take lessons & general piano classes at college to get my skill level HIGH enough to then audition & major in performance? How long would it take to become proficient enough to audition & major in performance? Suggestions & answers from performing pianist majors is greatly appreciated, thanks.
For My Main Major In College, I’m Going To Do Piano Performance. My Parents Want Me To Have A Back-up Major.?
Any suggestions on back-up majors that work well with piano & pay well? Ones that I’m interested in that are offered at the music colleges I’m considering are:

• International studies
• Mathematics
• Neuroscience/Cognitive Science
• Physics
• Political science
Which of those majors are easy to find jobs in & pay well? Which ones do you think are the most popular/least popular majors today?

i would like to be a piano teacher for a school, or college. Is this a good career? or should i major in this, & another thing too?
