I’ve been listening to Yann Tiersen’s piano playing & found some of his piano pieces very good, 8mm & Naval from the Tarbarly album are examples. I’d like to listen to more of the same, any suggestions?

I just had my last piano recital so I have a lot of free time with the piano & without a teacher to help me pick something out I’m having a hard time choosing what piece to play. I have been playing for almost 10 years so I’d say I have a fairly high skill level. Anything classical, modern, or anything you love to play!

Well theres this person who shows off about her piano skills. I play piano too & i play 1000 miles by vanessa carlton. I stupidly traught her & now she plays it in front of her friends & they go oh ur so good. IM JELOUS! it was me me eme ememememememe any way so. I need a good like song that people know like taylor swift ( i no that already) one that looks tricky but is easy. I like playing off you tube like the piano teacher on you tube. Ive leart lots. I’m not quite sure where to begin in the world of jazz, which brings me here for some advice. I’d like to learn to play a few jazz pieces for solo piano as well as learn some jazz theory. My skill level is somewhere around intermediate, & I would describe the style I’m looking for as smooth and/or mellow.
Could anyone suggest some artists/composers who might be worth looking into?

I am arranging Mozart’s 1st Symphony for the piano but I do not as of yet have the technical skill in order to play it completely on the first few attempts. My friend & I want to sing a song for Coffee House, a cabaret/talent show event. I am not the best of singers, but I do love to sing duets with my friend, who is an excellent soprano singer. I have exceptional piano skills, & just about any song can be in our repertoire. Other students have done many musical selections like Wicked & Phantom of the Opera, so we want to stay away from those. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can’t afford a private teacher. Also, I played piano when I was very young. I played for about 9 years & stopped. I want to start to play piano again. I feel my piano skills suck now. How should I start?

I need to audition for the music program at my college at the end of June & I need some suggestions. I pick up on things pretty quickly; I don’t want anything dead simple but I also can’t play anything very complicated because 1) I don’t want to be over my head in the course if I DID learn it & 2) I do have to learn it in a month. I am trying to learn both the guitar & the piano. I work with kids with autism & want to be able to play kids songs at least as studies have shown that this improves learning skills in my kids. I don’t have the money for a teacher so I’d like to get a book & try that out. I don’t read music & don’t play other instruments. Any good suggestions for a book?

I was playing the piano for 9 years. I love it & I don’t want to stop, I just also really want to play guitar. So that’s my question. Is it a good idea to combine these 2 things ? Is it gonna be harder or easier ? And next question: Should I start with acoustic when I want to play electric in the future or should I buy electric from the start ?

I’m looking for the Fairy music that can be heard in the Fariy Fountains in the Legend of Zelda: Orcarnia of Time (it can also be heard in Windwaker). I’m looking for a really good piano arrangement that is not too easy, but not extremely hard. I’m a medium level pianist.

I already play the piano to a pretty high level, but was really interested in learning more about the field of piano tuning etc as hopefully a holiday job…
I would assume that it is impossible to learn from another piano tuner since they would hardly want to create more competition, so an online course seemed like the most likely alternative – or maybe there is a book or better way to go about this?

Could anyone tell me the contact info for good piano tuning institutions, either in Asia or Europe. I would like to do a course in piano tuning & repair.
