The tried & true system is HANON, the Virtuous Pianist. It seems simplistic when you first try it, but pretty soon it starts getting tricky. The trick is to play it over & over & over, because they're actually like aerobics for your fingers. It guarantees independence of fingers, it says right on the book. Look for it in Amazon or your local B&N.

Get "HANON The Virtuoso Pianist in 60 Exercises" (see link in Sources). It is a piano exercise technique that does just what you're seeking. Its only $8.95, if you can't get it online they usually will have it at any major instrumental music store such as Marshall. This is what my piano teacher had me use. I can't recommend it enough.

Practice the tunes bar by bar. The thing with playing the piano, is not in your fingers, it's in the mind. Train your brain to read the notes for both hands separately. It's like having a computer with two processors.
