What Is A Good Gift To Get My Uncle, Who Is Playing The Piano For My Ceremony?

My uncle will be playing the piano as we all walk down the aisle. I have no idea what I should get him! He & my aunt live in a camping trailer (they sold their house when they retired so they could travel), so I don’t know that I should get him something material, as I’m sure space must be tight in there. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

A $100 gift certificate to a nice restaraunt. They (his wife & him) have to eat, don’t they? :)

Gosh I’d give him a prepaid gas card at his favorite filling station.
since he is a favorite uncle, $50 should do it nicely.

Get them tickets to a show in Branson, Missouri, or wherever they pitch their tent next. Older folks love going to symphonies & musical shows. See where Merrill Osmond is playing. Everyone loves Merrill!

why dont you get an engraved plaque made for him, that way its from the heart & its peronalized. you can say thank you for all you did, to the greatest uncle with his name, something to that effect.

When I sing at weddings I generally get a thank you gift of $50. I would go with the gift certificate to a place he would like for example if he likes fishing get him one at sports store. Does he like ballgames? You could get a couple of tickets to a ball game, show or concert. Something he can really enjoy.

I had a similar situation when I was planning my wedding. My cousin, who is also a guy performed a reading for us. I felt myself not knowing what a proper gift for men in weddings were. It wasn’t like I could get him a 42 inch plasma TV. I wanted to find something that he would actually like & be able to use. I had never been in a wedding before either so I had nowhere to go for advice on the situation. Then I came across this great site that had a whole section on gifts for men in weddings. It was great because not only did I find what to get him, but we also found things for the other groomsmen in the wedding. Here is the link http://www.pwponline.com/groomsmen-gifts.html .
I hope it helps you the same way it helped me. Good luck with everything!

Since he (obviously) plays piano I would get him tickets to a musical or a gift voucher to a piano bar restaurant. It depends how good he is & how much he is doing as to how much you want to thank him. Just keep in mind what most musicians would charge per hour. I would suggest you ‘pretend’ that you are paying him for the hours he plays – so if he is needed for 30 mins to an hour you can maybe spend around $30-50 (that would be my minimum suggested amount)
