first off, some people have an ear for music (like me) & can tell when something is out of tune. so you can go by that. or if you have an electric keyboard, compare the pitches of a single note on both pianos. if one is out of tune then the piano needs to be tuned. same thing goes if you have a correctly tuned guitar. compare the “e” string with the “e” key. if the key is out of tune then your piano needs to be tuned.

When striking any single key (white or black) & the note seems to waver or sounds flat you need the piano tuned.
